(WIBW) - The new Al Jazeera America network launches next week, but not everyone in Kansas will be able to watch it.
The Arab-based broadcaster entered the U.S. market by buying the former "Current TV" from Al Gore.
While it gained fame internationally for airing messages from terrorists like Osama Bin Laden, network officials say the U.S. version will bring middle-of-the-road news reporting. Well-known national newscasters like Soledad O'Brien and John Seigenthaler have signed on to appear.
Al Jazeer America launches August 20th. In theTopeka area, it will be seen on AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV and Dish Network. People may enter their zip code at america.aljazeera.com to find the channels.
Cox Communications told 13 News it will not carry it on its Kansas cable system.
