TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A history teachers encouragement has led to a Kansas high schoolers hopes of a political career.
Chance Lammer is currently the only candidate running for a seat on the USD 450 School Board.
The Shawnee Heights High School junior says he would like to learn more about the political aspects of the position and will use a word-of-mouth campaign to get votes.
Lammer believes he has an advantage over other candidates because of his status as a student who experiences first-hand the issues he would have to tackle as a board member.
Filing deadline for school board candidates is January 22nd.
