TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Town and Country Christian Church found some disappointed people at their food giveaway at the Kansas Neurological Institute.

13 News received a call from a viewer who told us she was turned away at the monthly church food drive because there wasn't enough food.

We spoke with a volunteer from Town and Country Church who didn't think anyone was turned away, but said there was spoilage and mold in some of the perishable food.

A spokesperson from Harvesters, told us they usually send a shipment of 20,000 pounds of food with the goal of feeding 2,000 people, but only 16,000 pounds went out because contributions were below the usual count.
