The Topeka Zoo's "Alligator Frenzy" will be open May 9 thru Sept. 30 and include:

A rare Albino Alligator approxamately 6 feet in length.

A Feeding Lagoon featuring 40-50 juvenile American Alligators offering a safe, up close, hands on guest experience.

Blossom, an Opossum who has made a tin shack her new home!

Walter, a resourceful and mischievous Crow, who is keeping watch over the bayou.

Lily, the Turkey Vulture, known as nature’s sanitarian, roosting in a tree.

Additional small aquarium displays featuring crawdads, bullfrogs, spiders, reptiles, and amphibians!

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Students at the Security Benefit Academy announced Tuesday the names they have chosen for two alligators in the Topeka Zoo's upcoming exhibit.

Snapper and Ally are their choices. Security Benefit let the kids have the naming rights the company earned through sponsoring the gators.

Topeka Zoo education curator Dennis Dinwiddie talked with the students about alligators and their habitat. They also got a chance to pet one of the zoo's alligators and meet Alex, the zoo's alligator mascot.

The Alligator Frenzy exhibit opens at the zoo May 9th.
