Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - Ten thousand Shawnee County customers were without power Saturday morning (7/7) in the blazing heat.
Westar Energy officials say it happened around 9:30 Saturday morning. Officials say failed equipment near 41st and SE California resulted in the massive outage.
The problem affected the transmission line, that feeds power to substations. Westar officials say power was restored about two hours later, at 11:30 a.m.
