TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- State Sen. Tom Holland is entering the run for Kansas governor.
Holland, D-Baldwin City, announced his candidacy Wednesday. This gives Kansas Democrats a new candidate to challenge Republican U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback.
Holland is serving his first term in the State Senate, following three terms in the Kansas House. The small business owner is married and has four children.
Holland will be the second Democrat in the race.
Herb West of Paola and Marty Mort also announced they're seeking the Democratic nomination.
Current Democratic Gov. Mark Parkinson will not run for another term.
