TOPEKA, Kansas - The Shawnee County Sheriff’s office is currently re-opening the investigation into the death of Tirell Ocobock which occurred on April 26, 1976.
The case was initially investigated by the Capitol Area Major Case Squad commencing with the discovery of Ms. Ocobock near 2nd and Urish.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigations and the Shawnee County Sheriff’s office has investigated the case throughout the years following up on leads. To date, approximately 150 leads have been investigated by the KBI and\or the Shawnee County Sheriff’s office.
