Savannah, Georgia (WTOC-TV) - An Army soldier originally from Topeka is charged with killing a fellow soldier in Savannah, Georgia.
Sylvester Horton, Junior was arraigned Wednesday in the July 2nd shooting death of Necco McCraw.
Authorities revealed more details about the incident Thursday.
They say the two were once roommates at Hunter Army Airfield. They say McCraw and his one-year old son attended a picnic the day of the murder. They say they left the picnic around 1pm, and McCraw's body was found at a construction site just after 3:30 that afternoon. The child was found wandering along a highway after 6pm that night.
Police say Horton was caught using McCraw's credit card and had a gun in his vehicle.
So far, he does not face any charges related to the child.
