TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka may be one step closer to finding a new City Manager.
According to the search firm Bob Murray and Associates, 49 candidates have applied for the position.
Interim Finance Director Pam Simecka will replace current Interim Dan Stanley as the Interim City Manager until a permanent replacement is found, making her the *second Interim City Manager since Norton Bonaparte left last year.
Stanley is leaving the post June 1 for family reasons.
The council is hoping to begin the interview process in the coming weeks.
