The highways may be less crowded this Holiday weekend.

The Wichita Business Journal reports that AAA expects fewer Americans will be traveling this 4th of July weekend compared to last year.

AAA expects 37.1 million americans will take a trip of 50 miles or longer this weekend.

Road trips have decreased by 2.6% while air travel is up 4.9%.

AAA says rising gas prices and falling air fares are influencing people's travel decisions.
