Topeka's USD 501 school board talked budgets at a noon meeting Tuesday.
The board says it ended the current fiscal year with two and a half percent in contingency funds, but that would only run the district a few days.
They're waiting to hear if any new cuts come in light of the state's new revenue numbers.
The board also honored board member Betty Horton for her service on the board.
Horton lost her re-election bid but says she'll continue to be involved in the schools.
Hal Gardner will take Horton's place on the board.
