HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) _ A trip through Kanopolis State Park in
central Kansas takes a river rider by caves, a wildlife area and
Indian petroglyphs.

A 20-mile section of the Smoky river feeds into the lake and
welcomes visitors by canoe, kayak or something else.

There are three rivers in Kansas considered navigable _ the
Arkansas River, Missouri River and the Kaw.

A handful of other streams and rivers flow largely across
private land but still have areas of canoeing access.

The park manager says the Kanopolis is rich with American Indian
and westward settlers' remnants.
