Cessna Set For More Layoffs

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Another round of layoffs is in the works at Wichita-based Cessna Aircraft Co.

CEO Jack Pelton sent an e-mail to employees on Thursday warning them of more reductions throughout the company. The e-mail does not say how many workers will be affected.

Spokesman Doug Oliver said workers will be notified by June 19.

Oliver says conditions of the marketplace are forcing the company to re-evaluate production numbers and that will bring reductions in the number of workers.

The company has laid off 6,900 employees since November.
