OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas City suburb of Overland Park is rejecting backyard chickens again.

On Monday, the City Council voted unanimously to deny a one-year test permit to brothers David and Bill Crupper to keep their four hens.

David Crupper had said he wanted the chickens for fresh eggs. But opponents said the birds could lower property values.

The permit would have lasted only one year.

Four years ago, the City Council rejected a similar request.
