Congressman Jerry Moran continues speaking out against the possibility GITMO detainees could be moved to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Moran stopped by the WIBW-TV studios Friday, and explained why he was against President Obama's possible plans.
Moran says having the detainees at Leavenworth would jeopardize the Fort's mission as an educational facility for military officers from around the world. Plus, he says the facility is not equipped to handle the types of detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay. He says moving them in the facility's current state would put Kansans at risk.
Moran says the entire Kansas Congressional delegation opposes the idea of moving the detainees to Ft. Leavenworth.
Moran also talked about the recently passed Consumer Credit Protection Act.
