State Minimum Wage Increase Celebrated

A ceremony Monday celebrated an increase in the State's minimum wage.

Governor Mark Parkinson was surrounded by supporters of the hike in Kansas City for a ceremonial signing of legislation that made it possible.

Lawmakers earlier approved, and former Governor Sebelius signed
a bill increasing the State's minimum wage from $2.65 an hour to $7.25.

The increase takes effect January 1st.
