SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ An apparent crane accident in Salina has killed a man.

Police said that two people were trying to jump-start an older-model boom crane shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. It rolled on top of a man standing behind it.

The name of the victim, who died at the scene, has not been released.

The crane was apparently being used to trim trees. Police are investigating, but say it appears to be an accident.
