Hands On Experience with Wind

Students at Cloud County Community College will get hands on experience developing wind energy thanks to Westar.

The utility donated one of its two turbines from the Jeffrey energy center in St. Mary's to the school.

Seven trucks hauled the dismantled engine to Concordia Thursday

Westar plans to donate the other turbine to another local university.

The Jeffrey Energy Center was built in the late 90's and was the company's first commercially operated wind turbines.
