TOPEKA, Kan. – Tommy Lynn Sherrill, 40, Topeka, Kansas, is charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 drug felony; one count of possession of stolen property - $1,000 to $24,999, a level 9 nonperson felony; obstructing the legal process, a level 9 nonperson felony; eluding police; a level 9 person felony; and driving while suspended (third or subsequent offense), a class A misdemeanor.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred on May 5, 2009. Hale was taken into custody by the Topeka Police Department shortly thereafter.
The Topeka Police Department investigated the incidents. Shawnee County Deputy District Attorney Matt Patterson is the prosecuting attorney.
As in all criminal cases, a person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The charging document filed merely contains allegations of criminal conduct.
