Topeka - An apartment complex maintenance worker was injured in a drive-by shooting over the noon hour Monday.
Topeka Police were called to the Oakbrook Apartments, 3200 block Twilight Ct., just before 12:30 pm Monday. They found 48-year old Saxby Mickler in the manager's office of the complex with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Police say Mickler was working in the complex when two men drove by and fired shots at two unknown people who were walking in the area.
Police say Mickler was hit by a stray round. His injury was not considered life-threatening. Police say several of the apartment buildings had damage to walls and windows from the bullets. They say some of the apartments hit were occupied, but no one else was injured.
The two suspects were last seen westbound on Twilight in a maroon 4-door sedan. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Detectives at 785-368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
