It's the art students turn to be in the spotlight at Topeka West High School.
Best of West features more than 500 pieces of art including photography, drawing, painting, jewelry and ceramics.
Organizers say the accomplishments of athletes are often highlighted, but the art students look forward to presenting their works.
Each student is asked to exhibit at least one piece.
Some teachers allow the students to look at the works during class. The students then choose their favorites and return to class to discuss and write about the art.
The school has been hosting Best of West for over 25 years. The exhibit runs through Tuesday.
