PETA is protesting near Ft. Riley Saturday, saying Army medics kill goats for use in medical trauma training. PETA says the goats are "stand-ins" for wounded soldiers in training exercises. The protest is set for Noon at NW Washington and Grant Avenue in Junction City. A PETA news release says a whistle blower charged that medics on 16 military facilities are using goats in medical training, which PETA says violates law. PETA is asking the Department of Defense to use non-animal methods in trauma exercises. WIBW TV has asked Ft. Riley to comment on the PETA allegations.
