Topeka - Four cans of food can get you a pickup load of double-ground mulch all this week.
The City of Topeka is offering the food-for-mulch deal to help Project Topeka and honor Earth Day.
People can get the mulch at the city's yard materials recycling facility just north and east of I-70 and Macvicar.
The facility is also open for free yard waste dumping Saturday, April 25 for Shawnee County residents. All loads must be fully secured. Businesses are not included in the free yard waste dumping offer.
The facility is open 8 am to noon and 1 to 4:45 pm Monday through Saturday.
