TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Records show a Kansas official was serving on a San Francisco company's board when it received a $100,000 loan from his state agency.

The Lawrence Journal-World reported in its Tuesday editions that the tie was disclosed in the latest annual report filed by Urigen Pharmaceuticals Inc. with federal regulators.

The loan in January 2007 was from the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corp., a state agency set up in 1987 to nurture emerging high-tech businesses. Urigen develops products for dealing with urinary tract ailments.

In its report for the year ending June 30, 2008, Urigen lists Tracy Taylor as the chairman of its board and a director since 2005. Taylor is KTEC's CEO.

But both the company's founder and Taylor said Taylor has not received any compensation as a director.
