A Kansas man has half a million reasons to thank the Kansas Lottery Monday.

Adam Sorell won $500,000 from the second chance drawing with Midwest Millions and the Kansas Lottery.

Sorell is a law enforcement officer in Franklin County.

He and his wife plan on using part of their winnings to take a vacation sometime next year and start a college education fund for their two sons.
