Discovery Center to Bring Exploration, Education to Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. - The call for help is out to bring a place of discovery and exploration for children to Topeka.

It's called the Kansas Children's Discovery Center, a 16,000 square foot facility to be built in the southwest area of Gage Park, near 10th and Rock Garden Road. That piece of land was donated to the project by the City of Topeka.

The center will include exhibit areas that emphasize math, science and the arts, encouraging both critical and creative thinking.

Monday, the project announced it had raised $4,023,576 toward its $6,000,000 goal. Hill's Pet Nutrition presented a $200,000 check Monday and U.S. Bank presented a $100,000 check donation to the project.
