Four Dogs, Ferret Saved from Topeka Fire


TOPEKA, Kan.-- Four fire crews responded to a kitchen blaze at a home near 25th and Belle Friday evening.

The residents of the home discovered smoke all through the house when they got home and called 911.

Firefighters arrived on scene and contained the fire quickly, preventing it from spreading. No one was hurt.

Emergency crews managed to save four dogs and a ferret from smoke and flames.

Initial estimates place the damage at around $25,000.
