The ship attacked by Somali pirates Tuesday - and the two Topekans serving on her crew - arrived in Kenya Thursday morning.

The Liberty Sun pulled into Mombasa with its bridge damaged by rocket propelled grenades and its windows shattered by gunfire. The crew wasn't hurt.

Caroline Waldmann of Topeka says her husband Bill and her brother Ken Stearns were apprentice merchant marines aboard the ship.

Waldmann says she finally spoke with her husband around noon Thursday. She says he's tired, but otherwise alright. He and Ken expect to return home in about a week.

The Liberty Sun was the second U.S.-flagged cargo ship attacked in a week. The captain of the Maertz Alabama was held hostage for several days before being rescued.
