A Topeka restaurant owner has been convicted on charges he illegally harbored Indian nationals who worked at his restaurant, including one who died after complaining he was being forced to work.
Thirty-three year-old Amarpreet Singh owns the Globe Restaurant.
According to evidence presented at trial, Singh told police that the man who died did *not work at the restaurant and said the man was a homeless alcoholic.
Prosecutors argued Singh housed the illegals in an apartment where the man was found dead.. and required them to work long hours.
Singh is scheduled to be sentenced July 13th.
