Woman Says Others Beat, Abandoned Her

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 6:31 p.m. regarding a kidnapping/battery.

Police say Heather R. Mack, 23, of Topeka, accepted a ride from two females near the Topeka Public Library. After being picked up, they drove to another location in Topeka and picked up two other females.

Mack told police that the occupants of the car had a dispute with the her regarding her involvement with a male friend of theirs. She was then driven to the 8200 block of SE 89th near one of the entrances to the Clinton Wildlife area, where the 4 females battered her and left her at that location.

Mack flagged down a passing motorist, who called 911 on his cell phone. Police say she received minor injuries (cuts/bruises) and was transported by AMR to Stormont Vail.

The incident is under investigation and no suspects are in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division at 368-2200.
