(Topeka, KS)--If you are partial to your PC, April Fool's day could be no laughing matter. That's because a major computer virus that has already been causing trouble could go hard on your software on Wednesday.
The "Conficker" worm has Microsoft, Yahoo, Symantec and other companies on alert. Users should be on alert as well...because the virus could prove to be a major nuisance if your computer gets infected.
It is set to begin sending information to its home source on Wednesday. The hackers when then be able to sell your personal information to scammers, who would then flood your computer with spam.
Both the Microsoft and Symantec web sites have tips for fighting the virus. We have links to those sites under the Hot Spot on WIBW.com.
