Couple Dead of Gunshot Wounds

ESKRIDGE, Kan. - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating two deaths in Wabaunsee County, two miles east of the town of Eskridge.

13 News was initially told Monday evening that authorities were responding to an accident on Whitetail Road just after 9:30. A 13 News crew on the scene found roads around the area blocked at 8 Mile Road and Whitetail Road and was not allowed through.

The KBI said Tuesday those initial reports were wrong. They say that a man and woman were found dead in a home at 17420 Whitetail Road at about 9:35 p.m. Monday.

The two have been identified as husband and wife, James and Tina Stephenson.

The Wabaunsee County Sheriff says the Stephensons died of gunshot wounds. KBI will be investigating the deaths.
