Fort Riley Unit to Conduct Live Fire, Air Assault Exercise

FORT RILEY, Kan. - Soldiers with the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, are planning to conduct a live fire and air assault exercise from 2:30 - 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Soldiers, members of the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, will board a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at Fort Riley's Multi Purpose Range Complex, where they will be flown to a mortar fire site.

There, the Soldiers will dismount the helicopter and begin firing live mortar rounds, before loading the CH-47 Chinook helicopter for transportation back to the Multi Purpose Range Complex.
