Fourteen local schools joined together to help raise more than $40,000 for the Topeka School Fund. A meeting was held Thursday where a $48,000 check was presented to the Topeka School Fund.
Area schools joined with Overland Park-based "Major Saver", a company specializing in education foundation. They raised the money through a preferred card program, where students sold custom cards in the community for ten dollars each. The cards provided buy one get one free deals at fifteen local restaurants.
They raised all the money in one week.
