Sebelius Appoints Pratt Resident to Propane Council

To promote propane education and safety, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has made an appointment to the Kansas Propane Education Council and Research Council (KanPERC).

“Propane can be dangerous if not handled properly,” Sebelius said. “This board continues to improve the propane technology available in Kansas while educating Kansans on propane safety.”

Edward Barrett, Pratt, is the branch manager of Hampel Oil Distributors. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas. Barrett has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the council.

KanPERC is designed to enhance propane safety, education and training for propane consumers and employees; to improve existing propane technology; to increase the efficiency of propane; and to develop other programs to educate the public about the safety, environmental aspects, and uses of propane.
