Shawnee Co. District Attorney Chad Taylor filed charges today in a nearly three-year old church arson.

19-year old Trevor Powell Jones faces one count of arson and two counts of criminal desecration.

Taylor says the charges stem from a fire at Hillside Community Church April 30, 2006. The alleged criminal desecration incidents happened between April and November of 2006 at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

The Topeka Fire and Police departments worked together on the investigation.

The D.A.'s office has issued a summons for Jones. A hearing is set for April 15th.

Authorities would not say whether the Hillside Church fire is connected to the Saint David's church fire that happened in November of 2006.

A fire department spokesperson would only say affidavits in the Saint David's case were forwarded to the D.A.'s office as well.
