TOPEKA, Kan. -- About 300 students got a taste of possibility and potential at the 2009 Youth Career Day. Junior high students from Topeka schools gathered at the Kaw Area Tech, 5724 SW Huntoon St. today.
More than 20 employers participated in the event. Students talked with representatives of construction, health, security, firefighting, park/recreation, counseling, maintenance, engineering, accounting, law, government and military. 13 News also sponsored a booth.
Sponsored by the Topeka Downtown Rotary Club, the career day event is in its third year.
