Gov. Kathleen Sebellius saluted the state's founding industry by declaring next week "Kansas Agricultural Week."
Sebelius noted that nearly one in five jobs in Kansas are related to farming or food production. She also says agricultural products sold for almost $14.5 billion.
The Governor says the state usually leads the nation in wheat, grain sorghum and beef production.
Beyond food production, Sebelius looked toward the promises of renewable fuel production from sources like switchgrass and plant matter left over at harvest.
