Former Jail Worker Charged With Having Sex With Juvenile Inmate

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A former employee of the Topeka Juvenile Correctional Complex has been released on bond in an inmate sex case.

The Topeka Capital-Journal is reporting that 30-year-old Jennifer Jerauld of Topeka is charged in Shawnee County District Court with two counts of unlawful sexual relations and one count of trafficking in contraband in a correctional facility.

Court records show she posted $25,000 bond Monday. The charges were filed last week.

She worked at the Topeka facility from October 2007 to June 2008. The correctional complex houses male inmates up to age 22.

The Kansas Attorney General's Office conducted the investigation.
