Topeka Police say the first wreck happened just after 10 a.m. A vehicle was heading westbound on 1-70 near the 8th street exit.
The driver of the vehicle lost control. The vehicle flipped over but the two people inside were able to get out themselves.
Both escaped without injury according to police.
Just hours later, another accident occured in the westbound lanes of I-70 downtown near 4th Street. topeka police say the woman was the only one in the car at the time.
They say she told them she hit a patch of dirt causing her to hit the guard rail.

Both accidents closed sections I-70 for a while. Traffic was routed down Madison St. until crews could clean up each incident.
