WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Officials at McConnell Air Force Base say
the vice commander of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing was found dead in
his home on the Kansas base.

Col. Michael V. Krueger died Tuesday of unknown causes. The
47-year-old officer came to McConnell in May 2008.

He previously served as chief of the programs division at Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

Col. James Vechery, the 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, says in a news release that Krueger epitomized the wingman concept as he
was always by his side. He says he was his confidant, mentor and
friend.

Krueger leaves behind two sons and his widow.
