A state senator and Congressional candidate is urging opposition to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' nomination as Health and Human Services Secretary.

Republican Tim Huelskamp of Fowler released a statement Wednesday echoing concerns others have voiced about Sebelius' pro-choice views and ties to Wichita abortion provider Dr. George Tiller.

"Sebelius' extreme positions on abortion -- as well as her close ties to a late-term abortion provider -- should disqualify her from running this nation's care policy," Huelskamp said.

Huelskamp also says he doesn't feel Sebelius has overseen any real health care reform in her years as Governor and Insurance Commissioner.

In comments earlier Wednesday, Sebelius told cjonline that the attacks from anti-abortion groups were "unfortunate."
