One building is completely destroyed and several others have severe smoke damage after a fire raged for several hours sunday in downtown Osage City.

The fire sparked around two o'clock sunday afternoon according to witnesses, but quick action by firefighters and the osage city community prevented it from being much worse.

Witnesses told 13 News that the Historic Mink Photography Building located at 531 Market Street was on fire.

Councilman Jason Croucher says the fire was mostly out by about six thirty.

He said several buildings sustained heavy smoke damage but the volunteers helped store owners move their items back in after the fire was put out....remarkably he says nothing was stolen.

Smoke could been seen from about 10 miles away.

Rick Potter of Osage City sent 13 News photos of the blaze.
