Fort Riley celebrated a special guest Thursday at a ceremony. The army celebrates 2009 as the "Year of the NCO" to honor and recognize its non-commissioned officers.

Former Nazi labor camp survivor and retired U.S. Army Soldier command Sgt. Maj. Tadeusz "Ted" Gaweda was the featured speaker.
He talked about his experiences during World War II.

The soldiers gave Gaweda a horse jump plaque as a reminder of his visit to Fort Riley.
