WU Hosts Slavery Art Exhibit

A reception at Washburn University's Mabee Library featured art, reflection and conversation.

The event, part of Slavery Awareness Week, is designed to raise awareness that slavery still occurs. Organizers say no country, including the United States, is free from the slave trade.

Events continue throughout the week, and the art exhibit will remain on display through the end of March.

Several student organizations sponsored the event.
