TOWANDA, Kan. (AP) _ Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy says
investigators plan to finish searching Saturday along the Whitewater River for the remains of an 11-year-old boy who disappeared a decade ago.
Adam Herrman disappeared in 1999 from a Towanda mobile home park
where he lived with his adoptive parents.
Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy says searchers have a small area near the Whitewater River left to cover before the case moves behind closed doors. Further interviews with tipsters are possible. And Murphy says meetings also are planned with Butler County
Doug and Valerie Herrman contend their adoptive son ran away,
and they never reported it.
Authorities discovered late last year that he was missing after his older adoptive sister went to them with concerns.
