VALLEY FALLS, Kan (WIBW)-- Three people injured when a helicopter crashed in Valley Falls Wednesday morning were out of the hospital by Wednesday night.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, a private helicopter was inspecting natural gas pipeline when it went down on the east side of town in a wooded area around 9:40 am.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the helicopter is owned by Hawkeye Aviation in Ottawa. It was a 1972 Bell.
The pilot, Wayne Spry, of Wakarusa and passengers Clinton Shoemaker and Jerald Senger, both of Tonganoxie, were taken to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. A house supervisor said Wednesday night that all three were treated and released.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate what caused the helicopter to crash.
