Homeland Security Secretary Visits Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) _ As the high school band played, Greensburg residents capped another milestone in their long-term recovery from a devastating tornado nearly two years ago.

With new Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on hand Wednesday, residents cut the ribbon for the grand reopening of a grocery store.

Residents said the store was more than a place for them to get groceries and gasoline, but a sign their town was a survivor.

The twister that struck Greensburg on May 4, 2007, destroyed 90 percent of the south-central Kansas town and killed 11 people.

Napolitano is making her first visit to states since being confirmed by the Senate to head the agency.
