Parent Company of Capital Journal Experiencing Financial Trouble

The parent company of the Topeka Capital Journal is experiencing some financial trouble.

The newspaper reports Monday that Morris publishing group LLC avoided a loan default after banks gave the company until March 3rd for an interest payment, that had been due February 1st.

Morris owes a $9.7 million interest payment.

Morris owns 13 daily newspapers including the Capital Journal. Morris' broadcasting division owns 33 radio stations, including WIBW radio.
