WINFIELD, Kan. (AP) _ Relatives of a slain Cowley College student hugged and cried Monday as images of the crime scene were shown to jurors.

Twenty-five-year-old Justin Thurber of Arkansas City is accused of kidnapping 19-year-old Jodi Sanderholm in January 2007 as she arrived home from a college dance team practice.

Thurber could be sentenced to death if the jury in Cowley County District Court convicts him of capital murder.

The images jurors were shown included videos and photos of the crime scene at the Kaw Valley Wildlife area. Sanderholm's battered body was found there several days after her disappearance.

Prosecutors say she had been raped and that the images show that she was ``posed'' in a sexually suggestive position.

On Tuesday, prosecutors plan to present DNA evidence. They say they could rest their case by Wednesday.
